CD Cover Comparison - Chase & Status : More Than Alot

This is the cover to Chases and Status’ Album More than alot. Chase and Status are a both a duo of DJ’s from London who produce mostly dance music. After forming in 2003, Chase and Status have already released a number of singles as well as this album, and are bringing out a second album later this year.

The CD covers shows the album title ‘More than a lot, with the two DJ’s faces seen in the black and pink lettering. Although there is no direct reference to the album name or the artists name, the pink splatter of paint in the top right hand corner look distinctly similar a mark left by spray paint. This links it to graffiti and a more urban scene, showing that their music is popular in large urban areas such as large towns or cities. The fact that they have their faces on the CD cover shows that they are keen to make themselves known, but not so much that they want their face plastered clearly on the cover.
